MAKS 2003. Su-80 (Sukhoi, Russia) - aircraft general information.

Su-80 on static display."Sukhoi-80" (SU-80) aircraft is meant for passenger/cargo transportations at regional and feeder airlines. The aircraft could be also used for dealing with a wide range of different tasks. The programme envisages building of several modifications:
- SU-80GP (cargo/passenger variant) is intended for transportation of 26 passengers or freights up to 3500 kg in any region of the world, under any weather conditions, by day and night. The volume of a pressurized passenger/cargo cabin is equal to 20 m3.
- SU-80P (passenger) is meant to carry passengers at regional and feeder airlines. This configuration is characterized for the comfort of the passenger cabin.
- SU-80PT (patrol/transport) provides highly effective patrolling of sea and ground borders (patrolling time is 6-9 hours at the distance of 350 km) by day and night, with the surveillance of air, water and ground surface by means of three independent search channels - radio, optical and heat; cargo transportation; solution of special tasks, including evaluation of oil and gas pipes condition, implementation of search and rescue.
SU-80 aircraft can be refitted into the specialized medical and navigator training configuration variants.
The SU-80 boasts the following performance characteristics of interest to potential customers:
relatively high flight speed (up to 505 km/h) in combination with STOL capability;
autonomous operation from actually inaccessible, unpaved and unprepared airfields (strips);
highly intellectual integrated avionics that is absolutely new for this type of aircraft;
ability to fly day and night in all weathers, using satellite navigation and advanced automated landing systems;
reliable and fully automated built-in monitor of airborne systems, locating troubles to plug-in units;
long service life and on condition engine maintenance;
broad range of special purpose versions of base-line aircraft.
